Mental Wholeness Strategies: Acceptance

Mental Wholeness Strategies: Acceptance

This is where we begin. Acceptance.

Acceptance means welcoming things as adequate or suitable, receiving those things as they are.

Today, I’m asking you to accept basically everything.

Not an easy task. So…

Why is this important?

We tend to spend a lot of time and energy resisting things in our life that just… are.

We are who we are. Other people are who THEY are. There’s nothing you can do to change what’s happened in your life so far bringing you to this point. You might as well accept it.

Stop spending your valuable energy fighting against the things you can’t change.

When we resist our current circumstances, we can’t see them clearly. We blind ourselves to opportunities in the current moment for expansion, satisfaction, and pleasure. We leave ourselves uncomfortable, biased, blind, and powerless.

When we start with full-blown acceptance, even for the things we *do* want to change – racism or sexism within our society, our relationship status, or our bank account balance, for instance – we become better able to see ALL sides and contributing factors so we can come up with the most comprehensive & lasting solutions possible.

That’s why I’m asking you to start by accepting everything as it is.

Recognize & receive yourself, others, and the world in general – as is.

It doesn’t mean these things will never change (though it could mean that, and that’s part of the deal with acceptance).

When we stop resisting and start accepting ourselves & our situation, the unworkable becomes workable. You will find more opportunities to thrive regardless of your situation.

As you change within your situation, your situation will change.

Accept yourself, first and foremost. Accepting yourself is at the heart of accepting others & the world around you. All of your quirks and oddities. Allllll of your different personalities, including your absolute worst traits. Everything you were told is “too much” or “not enough”… screw that. Accept yourself & love all parts of you fully.

Accept the full spectrum of emotions. Happiness, Sadness, Anger, Jealousy… Joy, Excitement, Despair, Loneliness, Nostalgia, Misery, Numbness and everything in between. All emotions are acceptable and they can all teach you something valuable about yourself and where you’re going.

Accept your body exactly the way that it is. Yes, exactly the way it is. Right now. It’s perfect because it’s complete & you’re alive and breathing. Especially if you’re reading this right now, your body is working beautifully.

Accept the world exactly the way it is right now. All of the ugliness, all of the injustice… it all exists inside of each of us. Accept the part of yourself that relates to the ugliness – it’s in there.

Accept other people for the imperfect humans they are. Love them hard anyway.

Accept that you are worthy, you are good enough, you are loved. Right now.

Accept 100% responsibility for the way your life is right now. Accept 100% responsibility for your part in making life better for yourself & everyone around you. Recognize that you can impact anything about your life when you want to.

This and more is acceptance.

Take a deep breath, tune into the wisest part of you, and ask this question: What am I most resisting in my life right now? How can I be more accepting of myself today?

Share in the comments, or check out my free FB group The Cocoon, and share your answers in there. We would love to witness & support you!

Welcome to Mental Wholeness Strategies Series

Mental Wholeness

Do you feel deeply connected to yourself, and consistently strong in that connection?

Lean a little bit deeper into that feeling of self-connection right now.

Do you have a way to access this feeling – and maintain it – whenever you want to?

If you’re saying YES – that’s amazing!! – you’ve probably found that knowing yourself is an ever-evolving endeavor.

I’d love to offer you some tools for your journey today with this blog series, introducing some foundational strategies from my group coaching program Mental Wholeness.

Welcome to Mental Wholeness!

Mental Wholeness will help you fine-tune your connection with yourself – and, in turn, you’ll strengthen your connections to others and to the rest of existence.

Through Mental Wholeness, you’ll increase your abundance and spend less time hustling through life, creating way more time for yourself and the people you love. Better yet, you’ll be fully PRESENT with yourself and your people during those times.

You’ll spend more time loving your life because you’ll know exactly how to nurture your deep love for yourself. That big love & Mental Wholeness will overflow, rippling out and impacting everyone around you.

I created Mental Wholeness as a step-by-step for getting our mental, physical, and energetic ducks in a row, so we can build easy momentum towards our biggest goals.

It’s helpful to practice these strategies over and over again to create consistent alignment within yourself over time.

Focusing on these steps is sure to stir up some goodness in your life. It’ll make you more magnetic to the things you want. You’ll access a deeper sense of spiritual alignment, too (whatever that means to you).

You’ll become more deeply who you are.

It won’t all be rainbows and butterflies, but Mental Wholeness also gives you a place to go when life happens and things get rough. It’ll offer you a compass to ensure you come through on track towards your deepest, truest goals.

You only need to choose to practice.

I bet you’ll see some cool things happen in the upcoming weeks if you follow along with me and take this to heart.

We’ll be walking through eight Mental Wholeness strategies: Acceptance, Body Buzz, Beliefs, Clarity, Energy, Emotional Alchemy, Boundaries, and Trust.

Best Practices and What to Expect

For each component, I’ll give you a question to consider and I’d love to hear what comes up for you. Comment here, or better yet, check out my free FB group, The Cocoon and use your experience to start a conversation with us. You can also email me – – to keep it private.

Here’s today’s question: What would you love to see happen as a result of learning about Mental Wholeness in the upcoming weeks? What are your intentions?

Also: What does Mental Wholeness mean to you?

To be successful with this, dedicate some focus each day to explore & experiment with what we’re talking about.

It doesn’t need to derail your day.

(Though, if you do have time, writing would be a great container for exploring. Feel free to use these questions I offer as writing prompts).

Simply remember our conversation while you’re doing your everyday thing and get curious.

When you think of it, remind yourself of your intentions, and ask yourself – what does Mental Wholeness mean to me?

Keep in mind as we go through that these concepts will weave together and layer on top of each other. I would LOVE to hear any additional connections/insights/thoughts you have!

Applying these things in your own way is more important than sticking rigidly to my outline.

That being said, you deserve to have plenty of support as we move through this.

I would absolutely love to have you in our upcoming group coaching round of Mental Wholeness – you can sign up to join us here. If you’re looking for personalized guidance, support, or just to continue this conversation, feel free to email me any time – I’d love to connect with you.

Also, check out my free FB group The Cocoon, where we share support & strategies for deep self-connection.

Next, check out our first strategy in the series – Acceptance.

Introducing the Emotional Alchemy Starter Kit

We are creative leaders, warriors of expression. We crave positive impact, encouraging others with every breath we take.
Our bodies are human animals. Emotions run wild inside of us, adding unique swagger to every move we make.
Is your animal your loyal friend and your most powerful secret weapon, like the Direwolves in Game of Thrones?
Or… do you explode out of your skin every full moon like a werewolf?
Maybe it’s both.
We’ve worked hard all our lives to get our inner beasts under control. We pulled this off with very little guidance and structure helping us to do it well.
We all deserve to bring out our best selves by nurturing our inner animals, and we all deserve support while we do it.
That’s what’s on offer when we practice Emotional Alchemy.
SLICE Inspiration & Consulting’s Emotional Alchemy Starter Kit offers three key exercises to transform all emotions and sensations into physical prowess and creative fuel.
Daily practice of these exercises keeps us sailing smoothly when life gets rough… when mistakes, losses, and the unexpected happen.
They help us love ourselves and others more fully.
READ: Significantly fewer “blow-up moments” that become shorter, scarcer, and actually more enjoyable over time.
(Mental wholeness takes us a step further… teaching us how to plant beautiful green grass & a flower garden exactly where we are in life – so we can create the world we want, rather than wistfully dreaming about the other side of the fence).
Emotional Alchemy deepens our experience in life, whether we’re new to emotional work or we already know our emotions deeply.
Saying “yes” to something like this doesn’t mean we’ve failed in any way, or that we can’t handle our shit.
Investing time and energy into this means we’re smart. It means we’re playful and curious. It means we’re open and willing to expand in all areas of life.
With these tools in hand, we’ll be better together than we could ever be alone.
Are you ready to turn your emotions into gold? Start making magic with the Emotional Alchemy Starter Kit today.

From Mess to Mental Wholeness

*Vulnerable Story Ahead*

I used to be a mess.

Throughout high school and college, I was depressed, grieving, and suicidal, on top of the usual angst that accompanies learning how to be a person and a woman with strong emotions.

I smoked lots of cigarettes & drank way too much.

I made questionable-at-best decisions.

I was shit at relationships… on so many levels.

My weight yo-yoed, to say the least. I’ve always tended to be on the “thick” side of the spectrum – except for a couple of sickly skinny years thanks to amphetamines & constant studying.

Eventually, I developed anxiety that would keep me up many nights, which developed into full-blown attacks once I started working in mental health care.

That’s when I really knew something needed to change. I knew that I’d never be able to *really* help other people like I wanted to unless I learned how to help myself first.

I’ve been on the way back up ever since.

Maybe you remember those days. If you’ve only met me within the past 5 years, this might be difficult to picture. But it’s true.

I used to struggle a lot. Now I’ve learned a lot, I’m standing tall, and I’m putting words to the wisdom that’s always lived inside of me.

I’m one of those annoyingly happy people that finds the silver lining in every situation. (I’m actually working on doing this LESS right now – especially with the people I love).

Still… I just love taking whatever life throws at me and spinning it into gold.

I love showing other people how to do the same thing, consistently.

It’s been said a million times that money doesn’t buy happiness. And, it’s true.

As a new business owner who’s still paying off student debt, I’m in a more precarious financial situation than I’ve ever been.

I’m also happier and healthier than I’ve ever been.

It has nothing to do with my bank account, with my relationship, my business … or anything outside of myself.

Those things definitely help but *I’m* the only one responsible for tending the fire that’s burning and building inside of me.

I tend it by walking my own talk… By connecting to myself, then finding desires & inspiration to follow.

I’ve built a strong foundation of comfort in my skin… by loving myself and my body entirely. I’m sinking in deeper every day.

Every little oddity and quirk… Every grey hair and roll. It’s all beautiful and fascinating to me.

Don’t get me wrong, things really aren’t ALWAYS easy. I’m building a business from scratch, after diving in head first…

That’s just my style. Jumping in always worked for me in the past. (Read: YOU don’t have to shake your life up like that if you work with me, and I actually don’t recommend it)!

I had no idea what I was getting in to. A lot of hard lessons have been learned. I talk shit to myself sometimes.

And, I know exactly how to pull myself out.

The fact that I’m sane and happy right now, in the midst of some of the most challenging times I’ve ever experienced, is the most honest testimonial I can give to display the impact of the services that I offer.

It hasn’t always been this way.

But, now, I get to explore the secrets of magnetic wellness and wholeness full time – so that I can make a difference for others by teaching it to them, too. I support myself by doing this work. Even when I’m squeezing pennies together, I’m surrounded by abundance, and I’m growing every day.

My passion for psychology, my love for learning, and my desire to help others have always been my saving grace… and now, I’m fortified by the tools I’ve developed along the way. These things combined are incredibly powerful, and that’s what I offer to you.

I help my people reconnect with who they are… I show you how to plug into your driving force so you can fly straighter and swifter into your dreams.

Don’t just take it from me. Over the coming months, I’ll be sharing my favorite client stories with you over on my testimonials page so you can see for yourself. Stay tuned…

And, as always, if you want in, let’s talk. Dropping me a line at is the best way to reach me.

Thanks for reading. Have an amazing week. Talk soon.

Coping with Trauma in a Traumatized World

Big, scary word we’re musing about this week… trauma! Specifically, we’re talking about how to process trauma effectively in the moment, ASAP, after a disturbing/distressing event has occurred. Trauma – defined as a deeply disturbing or distressing experience – is happening all around us these days. Even if you don’t think you’ve been traumatized yourself (which you probably have), it’s really not uncommon to feel secondary trauma from the things we’re seeing in the news lately.

Unfortunately, when we have trouble recognizing & processing traumatic things as they occur, we can end up experiencing a lot of difficulties later in our lives. Even when we DO recognize what is happening, it’s easy & common to feel totally out of control when dealing with trauma responses in real time. I’d love to give you some of your power back today.

Most importantly – especially with this topic – make sure to put GOOD SUPPORT in place for yourself. Don’t try to deal with this all alone. Please, feel free to leave a comment or send a direct message to me with any questions or requests that come up! You can also email me: See you next week.

Components of Mental Wholeness: Creative Expression

We’ve finally arrived at the 6th component of Mental Wholeness!! Welcome to the grand finale of this 6-part series, where I’ve helped you find a little taste of the biggest outcome my clients achieve through working with me. Today, we’re talking about creative expression – the act of confidently expressing yourself authentically, through contributing your unique talents and perspectives to the world. This component is basically the whole point!

Becoming the fullest version of yourself, expressing yourself from that place, and impacting the world with your message and your creations. You can creatively express by choreographing a dance, painting a picture, or by dreaming about & creating a boatload of money in your bank account. We’re all creators here. Today’s video shares the benefits of creative expression, some common barriers to expressing, and inspiration to move you forward towards full expression today.

Components of Mental Wholeness: Emotional Alchemy

Today’s component of Mental Wholeness is Emotional Alchemy. We’re digging into the topic of using our emotional experience to our benefit, and how to digest emotions in a way that leads you towards success and wholeness in your life. Unfortunately, as I briefly mentioned last week, unprocessed emotions that are stored deep within us cause all kinds of problems both vibrationally – they impact who we’re BE-ing – and they can even cause us physical discomfort & illness.

On the flip side – when we learn how to alchemize our emotions, we turn them into gold. Our emotions can become compelling helpers as we communicate with other people, as we share what we’re feeling with calm and clarity. More importantly – we feel mentally whole when we’re able to tolerate every single part of our life experience, including every single shade of emotion that it brings. This component of mental wholeness, emotional alchemy, is absolutely essential. I’ll be back next week with the final installment in this series! Leave a comment below & let me know what you think, and make sure to subscribe to stay in the loop.

Components of Mental Wholeness: Vibrational Awareness

Part 4 of 6! Today’s component of Mental Wholeness is Vibrational Awareness. We’re digging into the topic of energy, and why our energetic vibration matters when it comes to the results we see in our life & feeling mentally whole.

Now, I’m not talking about energy as like your electric provider or propane tanks. (Although, in my mind, it is kind of related). We’re talking about us, humans, as energetic, vibrational beings. Vibrational awareness is key to feeling mentally whole in a consistent way. This knowledge helps you take all parts of yourself & your behaviors into account, and it can be very empowering to realize you can adjust the way you feel at any given moment. This knowledge is super helpful during hard times – so you can maintain mental wholeness & enjoy life even when challenging times arise.

Leave a comment and let me know what you think!

***Note: After filming this video, I found the Einstein quote I shared might be a common misquote. Einstein may not have said, “Everything in life is vibration”.

Here’s another lovely quote of his I’ve found: “All great achievements of science must start from intuitive knowledge. I believe in intuition and inspiration…. At times I feel certain I am right while not knowing the reason.”

Components of Mental Wholeness: Clarity

Clarity is the third installment of 6 where we’ll be walking through individual components of Mental Wholeness – a feeling of being complete & good enough as exactly who you are regardless of what’s going on in your life.

This week we’re talking about clarity – the extent to which you feel clear about your life and where you’re heading. It’s easy in our society to put true clarity for ourselves on the back-burner. We’re so swept up in routines, in our shoulds, in existing responsibilities & obligations, looking at our growing to-do lists… then all of a sudden we come up for air & realize we lost ourselves somewhere along the way.

Don’t get me wrong, we’re not ALWAYS going to feel 100% clear. Life feels really uncertain sometimes. And, learning how to recognize when we’re feeling unclear & re-connect to our clarity when we need to is a huge part of feeling mentally whole in a consistent way. I end the video with an exercise you can use to gain more clarity immediately.

I will be back next week for more on the next component of Mental Wholeness: Vibrational Awareness. Thanks for watching!! Make sure to subscribe/follow/connect if you’d like to stay in the loop.

Components of Mental Wholeness: Body Love

Body love is the 2nd part of a 6 part series, during which I’ll be describing 6 components of Mental Wholeness – the sensation of being complete as a person no matter what life is throwing at you. All too often in our society, we’re escaping our bodies rather than connecting with them, & we’d be very well served to turn this around! When you’re denying your body the love & care it needs to thrive, you’re putting a cap on the vibrant experience that’s available to you & the things you’ll be able to achieve during your time here on Earth.

A loving relationship with your body supports consistency, creativity, confidence, connection, and cash flow. When you love your body & provide it with everything it needs, it can be your best resource on your path to success. Loving your body will positively impact every area of your life. So, this week, I encourage you to let go of shaming & blaming your body, so you can feel comfortable in your skin and feel more whole as a person. I’ll see you back here next week for the next step on your path towards Mental Wholeness. Make sure to subscribe if you’d like to stay in the loop. Enjoy!
